HIGHLAND PARK VILLAGE FARMERS MARKET, SAINT PAUL

ABOUT The Highland Park Village Farmers' Market is brought to you by the one-woman show behind Frank & Ernest Marketplace, a small company located in Highland Park since 2014. F&E manages the 501C3 Linden Hills Farmer's Market, along with the Excelsior Farmer's Market on behalf of the Excelsior-Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce. To best support Upper Midwest farmers and food makers, and to keep customers and vendors safe during these COVID times, we are hosting contact-free pre-sale for pick-up markets, and bringing you the best-in-local foods from our remarkable local foodshed.

This a hybrid online store with pick-up market. F&E hold no inventory or owns any delivery vehicles, instead vendors list and distribute all their own products. This is a one-of-a-kind in the local food world!

The Highland Park Village Farmers' Market is a pre-order with pick-up opportunity only. No additional sales will occur on site.

MORE INFO As a longtime residents of Highland Park and current farmer's market managers in South Mnpls, we recognize the importance of buying local and eating well during these challenging times. With this, we decided to bring our favorite farmers and food makers to the Village for one night a week. But here is the COVID caveat - we wanted to do it safely; protecting customers and vendors alike. Also, knowing how many of our neighbors are now buying groceries online - we figured, why not make our farmer's market just online!

HOW IT WORKS Dozens of farmers and food makers will be skipping the tent and tables, and instead posting products for pre-purchase and providing contact-free drive thru pick up on Monday from 5 to 6PM. Starting Monday, June 15 and continuing until September 14. FYI, vendors will not be in attendance during pick up, and no additional sales will be made on-site.

WHERE At Frank & Ernest Marketplace, our online platform for sales, customers can peruse and purchase produce, meats, pantry items, and baked goods Tuesday thru Saturday. Come Monday, you'll arrive via car, or on foot, to the Lumen Christi Catholic Community to collect your purchases.

ABOUT OUR ONLINE MARKETPLACE To best support neighbors in purchasing direct via this hybrid pick-up market and local food makers and farmers in continuing to build relationships with customers; Frank & Ernest Markets and RED Market, along with the Linden Hills Farmer's Market built this online store. Akin to Etsy, this one-stop-farmer’s market-online shop, is where vendors post their own products and then personally fulfill customer orders via doorstep delivery, shipping or with farmer’s market pick-up.

Further, the platform is terrific for makers and farmers new to online sales, while being created for customers to select contact free shopping. It also reduces the need for customers to click from vendor site to site. At a single online store, with one credit card; Highland Park neighbors can purchase from dozens of makers, selecting from hundreds of food products, produce, proteins, pastries and plants.

WE ARE GIVING BACK With every purchase buyers can select to give back to a different nonprofit monthly. In June all round-up proceeds go to Wildflyer Coffee, a 501c3 charitable organization. Wildflyer since its inception, has employed ten young people seeking to leave homelessness. They provide workplace training, and much more. With every online purchase, customers can select to give back to Wildflyer's important mission.

CUSTOMER SAFETY MESSAGE Following the Minnesota Department of Agriculture's guidance for farmers markets and vendors, we have made the following changes to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 including:

+ Having all staff wear masks, gloves and clear visors.

+ Creating physical barriers to slow down and distance customers.

+ Setting up hand washing stations at the pick up market entrances and exits.

+ Limiting the number of people allowed to enter the pick up market location at any one time.

+ Additionally, we have created the following safety guidelines for shoppers including:

+ Stay home if you are sick or have been in contact with someone who has been sick.

+ Pick up your pre-sold products solo, only send one family member.

+ Wear a mask and wash your hands.

+ Don't touch products. Let management place your orders in your car, or set them at the designated table before approaching and collecting your products. We understand that some neighbors may want to arrive on site by foot, and management will do their best accommodate walk up pick ups.

+ Limit conversations, don't mingle.

+ Maintain 6 feet social distancing at all times.

+ While these are general guidelines, as conditions change, please remember to check the F&E Facebook page to stay informed about the latest precautions, and activities.
